Classic cars have a nostalgic feel and make older generations reminisce about timeless memories of the past. Most of the time car enthusiasts must visit car shows to see their favorite classics, but these five can still be see on the road. If you are looking to see a newer model you probably won’t have to journey far, but an older model may be garaged and only visible on a nice Sunday afternoon.
Ford Mustang- Created in 1964, the Mustang has been one of Ford’s best-selling vehicles. Mustangs are one of the best known and sought after classic cars. There are currently five generations of the Mustang, each with slightly different designs and model options. Whether you are looking to see a classic or a modern version, you are sure to pass a Mustang on the open road.
Chevy Camaro- This classic car was actively produced from 1966 to 2002, when slowing sales caused it to be taken off the production line. In 2010, an all-new Chevy Camaro was released and is back on the road.
Dodge Challenger- The Challenger was a car of the past until 2008, when the new design was released. Sales have continued to soar and this popular car has made a comeback. Created in 1970, production was continuous until it ceased in 1983.
Chevy Impala- There are currently nine generations of the Chevy Impala, but spotting a true classic with three taillights will probably present a bit of a challenge. Newer model Impalas deviate quite a bit from the older, more classic models and resemble sedans.
Pontiac GTO- The Pontiac GTO is a timeless classic car. The first GTO rolled off the production line in 1964 and sales were successful until 1974 when sales decreased and the GTO was pulled from the market. A new design sparked production from 2004 to 2006, but sales didn’t do as well as expected.
These five classic cars have continued to change their designs over time, but have remained timeless American icons. If you happen to pass one of the first generation models you will notice just how far automakers have evolved in the last 50 years.
